The Youth Adventure Programme is led by a small, experienced team who care deeply about Namibia, young people and meaningful outdoor learning. Each team member has a clear role in guiding, supervising and supporting participants throughout the journey.
Colandri Reyneke - Programme Founder, Professional Nature Guide & Tour Leader
Programme Founder, Professional Nature Guide and Tour Leader
Colandri Reyneke is the founder of Wildfoot Adventure Safaris and the creator of the Youth Adventure Programme. She began guiding from a young age and later completed professional nature-guiding and conservation training in South Africa. Her experience includes working with wildlife, supporting conservation initiatives and guiding guests through some of Namibia’s most remarkable landscapes. She is passionate about helping young people build confidence, independence and a deeper understanding of nature through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
Her Role During the Programme
Colandri leads the programme from start to finish and is responsible for the overall itinerary, participant supervision and day-to-day coordination of the journey. She guides the group through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, works closely with activity providers and campsite teams, and ensures that safety procedures and programme rules are followed. She also manages meal planning, helps prepare and cook meals with the team, supports participants throughout the trip and makes adjustments when weather, road conditions or participant wellbeing require them.

OPTIONAL
Chaperoned Travel from Frankfurt
Parents may also request that Colandri accompany the participants from Frankfurt to Namibia at no additional chaperone fee. For this arrangement to be possible, all participating teenagers must book the same agreed flights and travel together as one group. Flight details can only be confirmed closer to departure. This option is available on request and remains subject to suitable flight availability and final group arrangements.
Adriaan Visser
Safety, Participant Support and Parent Communication
Adriaan Visser is married to Colandri and is a father of two young children. Adriaan previously trained and worked as a medical doctor in the United Kingdom before returning to Namibia to focus on family life and support Wildfoot Adventure Safaris. His medical background, calm approach and experience as a parent make him a reassuring and practical presence within the Youth Adventure Programme team.
His Role During the Programme
Adriaan will be responsible for programme safety, participant wellbeing and daily communication with parents. He will help monitor the group throughout the journey, support participants when challenges arise and assist with the practical safety arrangements of the programme. He will also manage the daily parent WhatsApp updates, help prepare and cook meals, and work closely with Colandri to ensure that the programme runs smoothly from day to day.
ISAP Mini Ranger Training Team
Tracking, Conservation and Practical Wilderness Skills
During the six-day Mini Ranger Course, participants will be guided by Fritz Kaufmann and the ISAP team. Fritz will lead the week together with experienced San trackers, who will share practical knowledge of animal tracks, signs, wildlife behaviour, navigation and wilderness awareness. Their hands-on teaching gives participants the opportunity to learn directly from people with deep knowledge of the landscape and its wildlife.
Dirk Heinrich will deliver specialist sessions in bird ringing, bird identification, snake awareness and safe snake handling. These sessions will help participants better understand Namibia’s birdlife and reptiles while learning why careful handling, respect and safety are essential when working with wild animals.
A separate qualified training provider will conduct the first-aid component of the Mini Ranger Course. This ensures that participants receive structured and age-appropriate first-aid instruction from trained professionals as part of their practical wilderness training.
Assistant Guide and Youth Supervisor
The final member of the programme team will be a newly qualified or recently graduated nature guide from Kukama Wildlife College who is looking to gain practical field experience. This role gives an emerging guide the opportunity to develop confidence and experience while working under the direction of Colandri and the wider programme team.
Their Role During the Programme
The assistant guide will drive the luggage vehicle, help with daily logistics and support the supervision of the teenagers throughout the journey. They will assist with campsite routines, group movements, meal preparation and general programme organisation, while also gaining valuable practical guiding experience in a structured and supervised environment.
