Parallel Parents’ Tour

For parents travelling nearby

A Journey for Parents, Too

The Parallel Parents’ Tour is designed for parents who would like to experience Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe while their teenager joins the Youth Adventure Programme. For some families, sending a teenager to Africa for a 20-day adventure is exciting, but also a big step.

This tour offers extra peace of mind by allowing parents to travel nearby on their own guided lodge-based journey, while teenagers continue with the independence, supervision and group experience that the Youth Adventure Programme is designed to create.

Parents travel in a separate guided group, stay in lodge accommodation and follow a similar route to the youth group. The two journeys remain independent, but meet at selected locations during the final part of the programme.

For more adventurous parents, it is also possible to book a 4x4 vehicle with a rooftop tent, giving them the opportunity to experience Namibia’s camping lifestyle while still travelling independently.

How It Works

The Parallel Parents’ Tour follows the same general direction as the Youth Adventure Programme, but it remains a separate adult journey.

Parents travel with their own guide and stay in lodge accommodation, while the teenagers continue with their supervised camping programme. Parents do not join the youth programme itself, allowing the teenagers to build confidence, independence and friendships within their own group.

During the final part of the journey, the two groups may meet at selected locations or activities before ending together at Victoria Falls.
